I actually really like Humana. The extra perks and benefits offered with company are unmatched. I have never seen a company put so much action into actually caring about the wellbeing of its employees. Which is why I am stunned by how they have chosen to handle the breakdown within HAH. Why not just rip the bandaid off all at one time? Why this slow tortuous drip? For more than a year, all of the decisions made have seemed very rash and done with very little care for the employees. It's absolutely ridiculous and everyone involved should be ashamed of themselves.

HCM here. As for me, I can’t sleep and I’m stresssd all the time. Being potentially jobless is always on my mind. I’ve been looking and applying and haven’t found anything yet. I can’t be out of work for very long before I won’t be able to afford my living expenses. Like the original poster, I really like Humana. Benefits, perks are great! It’s just so disappointing that the leaders are allowing these rumors and paranoia to get so out of hand. If there are cuts coming and jobs to be lost, please have mercy and go ahead and tell us! I would rather know right now rather than wait until the 18th or whatever magical date there is. This hinting and waiting is frankly really cruel. I recognize this is a business and anything goes but this is just so unnecessary. I’m just sick with worry and I know I’m not the only one. Please just go ahead and tell us what is going on! I’m begging!
I can always tell when Humana is looking to change direction, my boss gets stressed and starts asking us to go above the norm. Not just to protect us but herself. been with this company since the incorp. of HAH and I have to say they did promote newbies into coaching positions due to growth, some only working the HCM job for 6 months. Many made mistakes, had no clue about pilot programs, not familiar with overall policies, etc. Saw the opportunity and grabbed it but now they are in the same boat and the HCM, FCM, SS and the CHE just looking to survive. It's unfortunate that upper management has been so inadequate. Corporate was dangling the HAH program out for mergers which the Feds realized would set up the health care industry for monopoly controls. The merger with Aetna was doomed from the start, corporate continued to cow tow to Aetna while not protecting their own interest. Bruce was living in a fantasy world and now our program is paying the price.
Mike Franke was HORRIBLE to coaches and the rest of the staff. The moral went downhill after every meetings. Horrible.
I liked it when I started, but this is a big corporation and at the end of the day, treat their employees as such. Mike Franke made a mess of HAH, they pushed the 10 calls a day which was beneficial to no one, then acted like our perception of expectation was a big misunderstanding. BS. We all knew what they were asking and the pressure behind it. I’m waiting for lump sum, then leaving. The pay is awful and the raise structure is inconsistent and unfair, unless you’re a top exec.
Unqualified Coaches is a bit strong. These people just wanted a better paying job and got landed with a no win situation. They were asked to enforce stupid things by stupid people. The coaches understood more about the members and the problems than any of these higher ups...
I agree. I agree, my journey with HUMANA begin really nicely. I loved the company, the perks. I was not crazy about the high deductible insurance, but I made it work. The past two years have been disgraceful and frankly, I’m over this company. I am over the unqualified coaches and the lack of leadership. I am leaving this month.
