Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Megtonio is trying hard...

...to win over the customers (existing and potential), wall street, and even the employees. He has been pretty active in social media. Even if he genuinely wants a successful HPE, the damage made by his predecessor is just way too much to revert. In addition, most CEOs sooner or later succumb to their knees before their Wall Street short-term-gains god... Seems like a good guy, though.

Here's a news flash: you cannot execute without good people

and you've yet again just incentivized a whole lot of great

people to leave and go to HPE competitors.

Bingo! I already moved on (to another company), and I advise everyone at HPE to start seeking for a new job while you are employed. The ship is sinking...

"Hey buddy, you'll get your bonus. Just give me 6 months. And IF your group meets their targets and IF we meet our numbers, you'll get something. Trust me."

Anyone here remember the days when profit sharing checks were fat and came every six months?

Then they started changing the formula. My favorite was it was tiered, the payout being tied to hot one of three "secret goals". followed by the one with a formula that included inventory turnover as a variable.

The current one is nice and easy: 0

I think it is limited to no "cash" bonus. If I was a Director or VP I'd be looking for work elsewhere. You would literally be working for 50% of what you're used to. There will be no mid year bonus for anyone except Aruba. Holding out for one is just wishful thinking.

But do the CEO, VPs, and other upper management still get their bonus?? If the company has to lay off due to budget - then NO ONE SHOULD GET A BONUS and/or STOCK OPTIONS!!!

You forgot the all important "IF you're still here'

Thank you, thank you for all of your hard work successfully executing all of our never-ending reorganizations and strategy shifts. You're all doing a great job! But sorry, no bonus for you, we didn't meet our targets. No, we didn't meet our targets, but we had plenty of cash to buy back literally Billions of dollars of shares to keep the stock price afloat to ensure us executives and our crony friends get theirs. Face facts, HPE employees, they don't care about you. Smiling and asking everyone to pull together as a team and telling us it's a tough message over and over may make yourself feel better, but in the end, you've just broken the trust of the majority of employees. I've read the bonus plan documents, you can look them up, and the CEO and board have wide latitude to fund the bonus pool even if we don't make the targets. Don't kid yourself, this was a conscious choice. I am sure part of it is driven by a desire to get more people to leave so they don't have to pay severance when they inevitably sharpen the axe for their next round of firings, wait, I mean WFRs. Here's a news flash: you cannot execute without good people and you've yet again just incentivized a whole lot of great people to leave and go to HPE competitors. Good luck, Antonio, you seem like a nice guy, but you will fail because obviously no one in the upper ranks understand that you take care of your employees and because they take care of your customers.

No bonus for you!

But we need your positive attitude!
