Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

would this disqualify me for lump sum payout?

Like many others—-

Hypothetically- if I were to give my two week notice Mid January.

I’d still be eligible to get it, correct????

All I can find in the FAQ sheet that was revised 12/13/17 is “full time employees employed thru 12/31/17 are eligible for the lump sum payout”; which leads me to believe I’ll still get it, even if I give my notice in January.

The blib about not being required to pay the lump sum back if we leave the company after receiving is no longer listed.

8wqz, your coach gave you some bizarre info, you may want to check with HR....I get the scheduling around holidays and staffing, but we’re given PTO for a reason, I’ve taken off a day a month to use my PTO, and days around holidays and was never told I was in violation, my coach supported it

Many remaining coaches are horrible. They can keep their sinking ship.

I don’t understand why they got rid of so many good coaches and left some very negative, toxic, micromanaging ones (before anyone flips out, I know there are some good ones who don’t rely on threats all day to lead the team; I just don’t get why they keep some of these awful ones).

Coach dodges questions about lump sum payment. In fact, in our most recent meeting, it was referred to as a house cleaning party. My coach felt compelled to let us all know that 3-5 absences in a 6 month period is a violation of the attendance requirement. Regardless if absence is a call in or PTO. We were told that taking off to go to the doctor may end up counting against us in our yearly evals. We were warned to not take time off the day before/after holidays and to be mindful of how many people are off already before we submit a request for a day off. HCM-RN here, this place is a joke. Most toxic environment I’ve ever been in. Can’t wait until I’m out.

I am really fearful something will mess up my payment. Like another rif

Always give 2 weeks notice. Do it for yourself. You never know when it could come back to bite you,

by | Post ID:

No matter how disappointed you maybe with Humana. Be a professional and give your two weeks notice.

by | Post ID:

No you will still get your PTO if you worked for Humana for 1 year if not you dont get your PTO balance... but without 2 weeks notice you will never, ever be able to come back to Humana... that is put in the system.... Not that you would wont too I suppose.. Alot of HR questions can be found on Hi in the policy source but I think that you might already know that...

Decisions...decisions. When to give notice? Exactly two weeks to the date of the lump sum payment? Or wait ANOTHER two weeks after the lump sum payment? What happens if you don’t give a two week notice? Is remaining PTO forfeited from being paid out?

by | Post ID:

Same. I’ve been wanting to get out for awhile, but the time has come.

by | Post ID:

I’m out as soon as I get a job offer.

by | Post ID:

I’m planning the same ‘break out’ as well. My understanding is we need to be employed through 12/31 to get it. Just a few more days and the notices can start flying. I’m trying to hold off on giving notice until the lump sum is safely in my bank account.

by | Post ID:

LOL "I'm getting out as well." Like it is a prison break. Will Morgan Freeman be narrating?

by | Post ID:

You will still get the payout.

by | Post ID:

I would get the lump sum first

by | Post ID:

Wow I was just doing similar research. I’m getting out as well and trying to time my notice.
