Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

We need to do the following:

We need to focus on our customers and provide them with the best product line, support and service. PERIOD!

We need to remove all of the milk rooms, coffee bars, snack bars, daycare, gymnasium, prayer rooms and all thother stupid crap.

We need to fire all personnel that do not directly support the product, support or service that we provide.

If you are not directly involved with what the company provides to the customer, get rid of them.

No think tank meetings for stupid ideas,

No more meetings about meetings

If you can't get an answer or find a solution to a problem within the first 14 minutes of a conversation, then you shouldn't be here

We don't need to have meetings scheduled all week long, nothing gets done or corrected

I have sat in these damn meetings and they are stupid. The first 10 minutes are about some stupid safety moment about someone's wife stubbing her toe while going to take a piss in the middle of the night or some other stupid thing that has nothing to do with our business.

Then the rest of the meeting is listening to some idiots explaining something that they know nothing about, meanwhile the one person comes up with the solution either to be isolated from the rest or we agree upon the solution

Stop stupid meeting where travel, time and funding is counter productive to a real solution

Video conferance, call in or email, meetings are much more productive.

Maintenance of the facility, we don't need a Real Estate Services department, get rid of them and hire a management firm to handle those services, this RES guys are stupid as f--- and they should at least take the services name from the name because the service s---s

We can cut half the employees right now and pro inky not even know that they wet gone, that is how nonproductive we have become.

Out of a 40 hour work week, we are only productive about 10 to 15 actual hours of work.

The company doesn't have to provide us with any of these so call inemities.

There is no legal action whatsoever that can be taken if it were decided to remove this crap.

I would include the company store and lunch room as well, but that is just my thought.

Years ago it seemed to be a good idea to have these things and in some cases, it did bring good talent.

However, wit the time in which we live, these younger employees seem to think that they are entitled to these and the company is an extension to their home. Where most still live, with their parents.

They can't earn anything on their own.

Simply because you work for a company that provides thins crap, does not mean that you are the brightest.

In these times, it simply means that this company fooled you into thinking that you are the brightest, hired you at a lower wage, because of these inemities, most of which you probibly don't even use.

No, it all a fasad and a big game that they play to hire employees at a lower wage.

When the truth be told, pay me top dollar for my services and I will choose where I eat lunch, work out and take care of my own children.

But, as pointed out below, this is the liberal, snowflake libtards generation in which we live.

They will f--- it up, then we will go back to the time when men were men, woman knew their place in the work force, and g--s/le---ans/transgendered were treated as such (f---ed up employees)

3cmf, first, legally?? Really? Is that what you think?

Do you idiot libtards really think that we can't legally remove the daycare, gymnasium, etc.,.?

This is NOT an agreement or term of employment,

You libtards think that you can threaten with legal action and make stupid comments like that.

There is NO legal recourse or legal action that can be taken if we decide to remove these inemities.

Companies are not bound by any laws that they have to provide these things. They were agreed upon and provided to retain better employees.

But that is not the case any longer. The entire facility appears to have become one giant daycare!!!

Everyone comes to work and gets coddled, pampered, the next thing they will provide is asswipers.

Yes, the snowflake libtards, this is what we have become.

Why hire one good employee and pay him too dollar, when we can hire three idiots, like yourself, and pay them much much less, and provide you idiots with this sh--.

Yes, you confirmed exactly what I said in an earlier post, y'all are STUUUUPID!!!

3cmf, you sound like one of the left wing liberal socialist libtards.....

by | Post ID:

there's some talent over here that need their own d--m flatulence room, but we doubt they'll get it !!

Legally you can’t get rid of “milk rooms” or rather lactation rooms. And you probably can’t get rid of prayer rooms either, granted there isn’t a designated prayer room. They use the workout rooms at the gym for Friday service. As for the daycare, I have personally been offered way more money to move to Exxon Mobil but with two kids in daycare Halliburton makes it a lot more enticing to stay. I know people want to vent and cut waste, but these things are here for a reason and retain the top talent. And sometimes less employees that are as talented as two or three combined is more effective, and retaining them with services allows for less time wasted training new employees when they leave disgruntled. See Silicon Valley, sometimes you have to spend money to make money.

A milk room is where you have milk you idiot.

by | Post ID:

So, uh wait a minute. Seriously, you guys have prayer rooms ? Really ? C'mon. And excuse me but, what the -x-x is a milk room. ?

by | Post ID:

You're right. All the experience has gone and we're left with a bunch of jumped-up nothin nobodies who will lose work and drag this company down. The future does not look bright so time to go looking for something else before I get the chop. What a mess this place is.

by | Post ID:

1slz, you obviously do not have a clue what the hell that you are saying.

It makes all the differance for the future of a successful company.

Owe have lost highly skilled and knowledgable employees over the past descent years due to retirement and cost reductions.

That knowledge has not been replenished, if you think that the quality of employees that we currently have is going to carry the torch into the future, you are sadly mistaken.

We have no succession plan or planning and nobody is willing to teach their coworker anything for fear they will get laid off and be replaced with cheaper labor.

This is a big problem.

There is a lot of mismanagement, wasted spending due to bad decisions and inexperience.

It is getting worse by the month, and it will effect our work force, our products, our customers and eventually our jobs and possibly this company

Treating an employee with respect and rewarding the employee with a descent wage is what brings the best talent.

Spoiling the employee with all the liberal political b---s--- is just a fasad...

Employees don't give a sh-- about the gym, daycare, milk rooms, prayer room, walking track and all the other b---s---.

Pay them, treat them with respect and let them do the job that they were hired to do and get the f--- out of the way.

We don't need to be micromanaged and be showered with all of the unecessary b---s---.

And, the best employees are not retired, we just don't have a leadership team that can hire quality managers that will bring the best out of our employees.

And until they get o handle on this, we will not recover.

We have lost our pulse, the mission has been destroyed.

We have leadership that had lost focus on our customers, services and employees.

So f--- off 1slz and 1dlo

by | Post ID:

Halliburton's best employees are now "retired", so do whatever the heck you want - it won't make things better or worse for customers or employees.

by | Post ID:

Funny, I thought that treating the employees well tended to bring in the most talented people. Maybe the poster doesn't want to compete with the best and the brightest for his job.

by | Post ID:

To the original poster, Finally, someone who understands what the REAL purpose of Halliburton is, and who still has a glimmer of respect for the business principle of Mr. Halliburton himself.

HALLIBURTON IS A SERVICE COMPANY, WE WILL DO WHAT THE CUSTOMER REQUIRES AND MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO FULFILL THE EXPECTATIONS OF WHAT THE CUSTOMER REPRESENTATIVE EXPECTS.

HALLIBURTON HAS EXACTLY NO REASON TO BE A 'POLITICALLY CORRECT' COMPANY, WE ARE A COMPANY THAT MADE OUR REPUTATION (WHICH IS ALL THAT WE HAVE LEFT), BY GETTING OUR HANDS DIRTY, AND AT CERTAIN TIMES IN THE COMPANY'S HISTORY THAT EVEN INCLUDED MANAGEMENT, AND NOW IT HAS COME TO THE POINT WHERE THOSE WHO DO GET DIRTY, DO SO ONLY RELUCTANTLY, OR ARE RIDICULED FOR DOING THE JOB THAT REQUIRES IT.

IF the original poster is ever found out, he will be marched out the door so fast that it will make his head spin for his refusal to accept the politically correct idiocy that Halliburton management spews, but for daring to share his heresy.

He might as well have signed his name as Martin Luther.

In my experience the best thing is to kick your client in the ba--- to get his attention. Thereafter, you'll have a good relationship. Try this tip.
