Rampant bullying and intimidation

Bullying and intimidation by the DMs and RMs is rampant at Pearson. Yet they offer zero help or guidance. Very toxic culture. I've worked with all the regions and the central region is by far the worst.

All the good Pearson people left 2010-2013 which is why so many people got promoted to positions that they were never qualified for. Not to mention Pearson has zero leadership development. It's like the Wild Wild West of management since no one holds these people accountable.

Hear, hear, . This is not the company it was a few years ago. It's like all the useless managers are trying to solve their own issues by taking them out on those who are under them. It's horrible.

The very sad part is that everyone knows this type of bullying/intimidation is going on and not doing a darn thing about it. It's acceptable and unlike the playground bully, one cannot go up to them and throw a nice uppercut at them to make them go away. Those bullies seek out other insecure managers and walk around shoving people out of their way. It's sad that bullying is a national problem particularly in schools globally. Pearson being an education company should do all they can to speak against bullying but cannot because it is rampant within the organization. There are senior leaders at Pearson who drive employees to tears each day and they have minions doing the same thing with their teams. For every employee boasting about how great Pearson is to work for, there are 10 others in fear of theirs jobs due to the harassment and bullying they are experiencing from their manager. Those leaders know who they are....probably not so tough outside of work and insecure with their inner well being.

It's so bad. Literally don't know one rep that isnt miserable. Most are looking for new jobs or contemplating looking.

If I get asked one more time about bookstore orders. Time to get into 2017 Pearson! Direct to consumer (hello Amazon)- bookstores are so 1995- the year all the managers are still living in.

I completely agree about the bullying at Pearson. I, too, have been savagely bullied while working for Pearson. At this point, the only hope is that Pearson goes completely under and any contracts that still remain (which are dwindling fast) move on to more reputable companies. Pearson hasn't been honest with their customers or their employees for sometime now and it shows. People are turning on each other at a rapid pace. Pearson just needs to go away. Face the inevitable.
