Thread regarding Oceaneering International Inc. layoffs


Does anyone else think this merge was the worst thing that could have ever hit both groups? DTS employees are falling out fast.....some very skilled senior employees have left and it sure doesn't seem like management even cares about losing this talent. If and when the work picks back up, DTS jobs will be screwed......all we'll have is a bunch of lever yanking IWOCS good ol' boys left.

What does everyone think, how long will cooperate let STAR keep loosing money every quarter. They seriously need to re think the management to get it fixed.

It's not just str and DTS what was SSFD is terrible due to management decisions. We lose money on every job have more NC's then ever. And have a management team that don't know the product or process and they ask why are we having so many issues now? As they watch the good people leave and treat the ones that stay like crap.

They are just there to make thier money and money for their friends and bail. Favoritism plays a large role. HR is usless, shop foremen look out for their family and the anderson boys. Some of them need a swift kick in the sack and shown the door. Initiative no longer exists. You are yelled at everyday and treated like crap if your not family or friends.

It's not just DTS/IWOCS, Asset Integrity stripped out all the decent management now we are left with a bunch of 'high five' VP's based in Norway who know nothing about the business but can b*it with the best and an SVP who never lasts in a role more than 2 years, Lord help us!

I agree... Most of the decisions that dude made were just bad. He lacks common sense. No one there really likes him or agrees with his decisions. But they do it anyway since he keeps everyone fearing for their job.

Don't worry Mr VP. Just grab one of your bodies and go downstairs smoke one or two. Convince yourself that you are still doing OK. Have them repeat it for you. Boost your ego. And carry on.

.......and the worthless STAR VP(the one with a girls first name as his last name) actually said in Flash the other day that the DTS talent that has left is the best thing that could have happened to OI. Yea. Ok. Keep smoking your crack pipe there Mr. VP. Keep on pushing your bad management decisions and poor leadership. that's sure working well aint it?

I always heard that numbers speak for themselves. Didn't DTS management make a ton money? Um.....and isn't STAR loosing a ton of money? HMMM..

Yeah, it was a pretty terrible decision. Take your high performance, high income group, and merge with one that's pretty uh, not the same thing. And then steadily excise any DTS talent or blood from the merged group. The entire giant reorganization has obviously been a failure. But hey, some managers got to go to a nice retreat for week, got some sweet button-down shirts, and then stood up and assured everyone things would be ok.

This is of course in tandem with Oceaneering's suspect acquisition policy. $half a billion and counting.

Current STR management is worthless and disconnected. All the talent at legacy DTS has left. There is almost no one left
