May 17

There is quite a bit of talk now about a May 17 date. Is anyone else hearing the same date?

Why is this thread so quiet? Tomorrow is May 17. =D

I think May 17th is the day that we steal more customers from Dell/EMC, HPE, and the Flash wannabe's like PureShitStorage

The dramatic rise in NetApp's outsourcing to India including US employees reporting to Indian Management in the past months have risen dramatically. Days are not too far away for US CEOs-EVPs-VPs reporting to Indians. There is a renewed interest in understanding how managers from these cultures lead their subordinates and dealing with Indian management politics and favouritism in the workplace. Indians are taking away Americans dreams with complete lie and Americans doesn't realizes that their jobs and actions are to call trouble for themselves in the future. Cross-cultural literacy becomes increasingly critical and above to create crisis in America. Culture refers to the distinctive collective mental programming of values and beliefs where Indian mindset in Industry says "No" to anything and that mentality is the strategy to attract American companies. They use hard tactics and not afraid to lie on employees face. They use a greater variety of influence strategies than those with less power. American companies would required to change their relative degrees of power distance, Individualism and Collectivism.

I'm not observing any activity in RTP that would suggest the next round is in 3 weeks as suggested by this thread. Any other sites hearing or seeing anything that would suggest otherwise?

The gutting will be in professional services since we are farming out everything to the partners since having skilled Netapp people to implement systems seems and make us successful seems to not compute with upper management.

Does it really make sense to wait until AFTER a rather large, strategic company event to look at eliminating overlap in some areas vs. before? I would guess that any potential changes within the organization (whether restructuring, shuffling around or cuts) would be occurring in the next couple of weeks. Should be interesting, nevertheless.

Sounds about right, that time of year at NetApp to renew the long-established tradition of May head reduction. Best to stay ready and watch your back...

May 17 is the 137th day of the year (138th in leap years) in the Gregorian calendar. There are 228 days remaining until the end of the year.

May 17th definitely happens right after the 16th and before the 18th.

I am sure there will be some sort of purge but with the new HCI device coming online we will be needing more sales people to get in front of customers. I think you will see an up tick in hiring. Lots of people jumping ship at Nutanix and VCE.

There is a post that predicted trolls would start may/June rumor soon.

by | Post ID:

All Depends on the Q4 Results and Projection in Q1. More likely next round of layoff's in May / June

actually May 17 is posted on the entrance door of every netapp site.

I think that is the opening week for Alien: Covenant, maybe there is a bunch of NetApp marketing events which we invite customer to watch. I often tell my customers that Dell/EMC is the alien in your chest and once you get the maintenance pricing this is what happens to your insides when you get that bill. How is that you Dell/EMC troll.

It's hard to trust info even on here, a rumor site - due to all the "fake news" that ends up here. Like the supposed NetApp Director that said a certain week in March would be a blood bath, and he knew for sure - then when that week came, NOTHING happened (re: layoffs at NetApp)

Of course, everyone celebrates Bob Saget's birthday.
