The ARSM role will slightly expand. Only teacher's pets will get those jobs. The ASM role layoffs was stage 1 of 2 just as it was for the RAES in 2016 and then all fired in 2017. The next round you be sitting around happy about being selected as the only ASM in your store (because you get paid the least) and they will pull the rug out from under you in 6-12 months. Authorized retailers losing their AR designated signs and will just get a sticker on the door. What does that mean? That means most of COR is becoming indirect. Union negotiations happening now. These fools deciding how many RSCs and SSRs have to go without the union losing that much face or cash. AT&T is willing to give in to more benefits for some to make sure most of you are without a union job. They can strike bust easily when there is 1-3 store per state. The bad news is you're fired but the good news is that as a union employee laid off in COR you get 6 months of pay and then you get severance. AT&T hopes you take dealer job first so they don't have to pay you severance. Store managers thinking they good. You not. you will get 60 day WARN notice and shown the door when your store converts to Prime Communications but this time you get a new servereance policy coming this august that pays you less than what the ASMs get.

What is your job title within AT&T, or at least your level of management if you are afraid to reveal your title? You seem so confident. If you actually know something, say how you know it, or give us some tidbit to prove you know something. Otherwise you are just rehashing common fears and not contributing anything of value. There's no doubt that the markets will optimize low volume ATTR locations into AR doors, which of course means layoffs for those ATTR employees. But the fact you're still using the term "COR" tells me you either don't know anything, or no longer work for the company.
Level 1 and 2 stores will be a thing of the past soon. Start looking now. Someone said it on here earlier, why pay COR when AR is doing the same job for less? And putting up the same numbers in a lot of cases. The ARSM's will assume the RAE role which it sounds like some of you do not understand the importance of the RAE. Without anyone watching training and cleaning up AR you will see the difference in service levels. The RAE is an ARSM for AR. Good luck to the ARSM's they will be really overwhelmed soon. Utilize the school reimbursement while you can and make plans now to further your career else where. AT&T is not the only game in town.
Heads up, go see what's going on at VZW board so you can see where the industry is going.
not speculation but info from a variety of trusted sources. It's incredible when dumb people tell others not to be dumb. RAEs were partially laid off in 2015 in one market and then 2016 in other markets and then all let go in 2017. Why would they lay off RAEs in 2016 just to do it 6 months later? Because the company needs to be below legal thresholds for layoff reporting by splitting it into several years and show continual labor cost cuts from quarter to quarter to please Wall Street. Choose to accept it or not don't care. AR is cheaper non union and they run just as well as a COR store no matter how much you've been brainwashed over the years. AR sell Direct TV can DF pre order and use OPUS just like COR snd they are closing the gap on performance. All they need now is your busier location. BAEs have full CROSS CHANNEL relationshiops now with the AR doors. didn't notice that one did you? ASMs would be needed if your store were to stay open. Unless you are a store with super high traffic or store of the future, you are at great risk of being laid off. AT&T isn't worried about ASMs or SMs they are worried about ending the union jobs like RSC and SSR. these decisions could change dates or be adjusted but they are happening
I didn't know the AT&T brand could be degraded any further.
It's already dog$hit to 99% of consumers.
This is the dumbest thread I have looked at in a long time. Why would they layoff ASMs after 6-12 months when they could just do it now and move to one RSM and a lead sales rep like sprint. RAEs were eliminated because they made to much for a job an RSC could do easily. ARSMs could be expanded, but turning COR to authorize would contribute to brand degradation. Which would effect other aspects of the company like DTV and business wireless. Why do you think jo other carrier has shuttered their company stores. Find some facts and stop spreading gossip rumors on a site people are looking for a little intelligent conversation about their futures
Sounds about right. I mean honestly, where else can you work a bonehead retail job and earn so much $$$? Gravy train had to end sometime.
How will they decide which reps will have to go
I can see this in smaller markets but I don't see this in the larger SM3 locations.
We will be giving Spring first choice. Prime Is a terrible and shady partner...we don't want their footprint any larger than it is.
