That wasn't no dead body. I just took a really long sh-- after a party weekend.
Wouldn't be surprised if it was an employee and they covered it up. No nli or lpo or 5 why can Help prevent this. Surprised at the fact they treat their employees like crap and when I was an employee I wanted to commit suicide-(NO JOKE). Thank goodness I saw the light and opened my eyes what good is a pension if I was not around to see it. So much happier now. Can't believe I wasted 10 years at cvx.
To the many, soon to be released employee's inside Chevron....
You have become mere slaves for nickels, dimes and a false sense of security!
Get out from under the spell of this corporate "beast" and live your dreams. Spend time with family and do what really fulfills your soul(if you still have yours)
The note above stated "There is no indication that the individual was affiliated with Chevron in any way" Duhhh He hung himself on YOUR(Chevron's) property, so he is completely now affiliated. And under such uncertain times, how can this tragic event sit well with employee's?
The difference between this kid and the Chevron "worker bee's" now, is that he went quick...
Many of you are dying slowly!!! and for what?
No difference in the end...
As some may be aware, late last week, a body was discovered in a wooded area of Chevron Park. CBRES security responded to the incident, and has been working with the San Ramon Police Department and the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Coroner as they continue to conduct their investigation.
Regrettably, it appears that this is a situation where a young man took his own life. There is no indication that the individual was affiliated with Chevron in any way.
Authorities are still working through their process, but it may be some time before all the details are known.
Great, now we will all have to sign off that we read and agree to follow the soon to be released 200 page SOP on proper cord disposal methods.
Let's blame management! Quick, rustle up some torches and wake all the towns people.
Strange he used a computer cord to kill himself. Why a computer cord and where did he find it? Was the cord maybe some junk he found that was thrown out by Chevron ITC? If this incident did in fact happen, as stated, at Chevron a Park, there is a report of it at the Police precinct or Coroner's office. No need to scour too much to find it. I'm not ruling out altogether the poor guy wasn't an employee or contractor, as purportedly claimed by Chevron. It's possible he was.
This was not a hoax; It is a tragedy. The individual who committed suicide was not a Chevron employee nor a contractor. He had no connection to Chevron but, unfortunately, chose Chevron Park as the place to end his life. There has been (nor will be ?) any news coverage nor Company press release (I assume).
Let's say a prayer for this young person who was so troubled he chose to end his own life
The man was found with a computer cord wrapped around his neck. I was one of the several people that was outside when emergency vehicles came into Chevron Park and I spoke directly to the woman that found his body. We have not received any communication from Chevron with confirmation of who it was.
Chevron says it isn't so, move along, nothing to see here.
Looks like just a sordid rumor. I did extensive Internet search. Bad rumor.
1nqd is trying to justify her pervasive curiosity. Move along troll.
There's a reason why the poor soul took his life, 1eqn. Rather than ignore it, I prefer to understand it. That's not being a sicko, like you would try to write it off. He took his life in a moment of weakness and despair. The least a companionate public can do is pause and try to understand what it was he was trying to tell us with this terminal act. To write him off is being a sicko. Is that you, 1eqn?
Xui: you are a sicko.
True Chevron would not want news like that to get out. But news has a way of filtering out if one looks at the right sources. Check the police reports for that precinct or the coroner's office. After enough time for next of kin notification, the news becomes public, as much as Chevron would like to keep a lid on it. It would be a shame this incident has anything to do with a Chevron employee who was laid off.
Chevron makes sure the media gets no information, especially when a suicide happens on campus. Everyone knows that.
Strange and morbid story. Will still appreciate if anyone would post a link to a more detailed account of the incident, if found.
Heard he hung himself. No acknowledgement from CVX yet. We don't know if it was employee or not. Not a single news story, but several witnessed the emergency vehicles arrive at location.
Dead butt obsessed deadwood poster finally do the world a favor?
I know nothing of dead bodies, but can attest to more than a few d---beats still walking the halls of many Chevron offices.
OP, I certainly heard or read nothing, but am intrigued now that you posted it. What was your source of information? If a news article, please post the link here. Else, your bit of news will be thrown in the basket of false rumors. There's a lot of it posted in these layoff threads.
