Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Question on no rehire policy

I'm working got a different company now. I told them that I'm about rehire for Intel, but they said job is internal and i don't need to go to Intel site.

Now they are concerned that I might not be able to work at company at all because we do handle Intel as a customer, and i would need to communicate with Intel employees and look at their data. Does anybody knows anything on how far this no re hire policy goes? Is it only concerning getting a green badge and go into the fab, or also supporting Intel from the local vendor site without getting a green badge?

Hey, does anybody knows anything about this case: I was given an IR and chose a buyout option. Can I get green badge if I'm already hired by another company?

hmmmm this wording: *There will be a 12-month waiting period for all employees leaving under ACT and returning as an Intel contingent workers. This includes all employees leaving through ACT - involuntary *

hmmm... wouldn't those involuntarily leaving through ACT be the ISP folks? If so, it's in writing they can return in a year.

Official policy from Intel regarding returning as contractor:

IMHO this isn't the last thing: The last thing you want is to accept another job and have Intel reject you after working for a week or two.

The last thing you want is to have Intel reject you after working for a week or two, AND THEN asking for you to repay the package because you weren't gone long enough.

Well, that's the problem: even HR gives contradicting answers. I guess the only way to find out is to try to apply for badge.

obk here: It sounds like the rehire policy depends on how you left Intel. As is mentioned, just call Intel HR (you can google it) and ask them directly. Include your WWID and they should be able to tell you. The last thing you want is to accept another job and have Intel reject you after working for a week or two. Get it checked out before.

BTW I have asked two ISP - ex-intel and one said he can come back as a green after one year..the other said he was told he can never come back. Confusing-

I resigned and left . But another team is interested in me, even i like them.

What are the limitations in rejoining interns of last focal rating. or any time period limitation in rehire.

by | Post ID:

OP here.

I resigned. At exit interview I signed a no re hire form, which did not have any cool off period on it.

So when potential employers started calling, they asked me about it and gave a phone number at Intel where I can check.

I called it and they said 12 months.

Now i called them again today and they said they don't see any restriction at all.

Now I need a green badge not to work as a contractor (I'm full time exempt employee at my present company), but to be able to go on site for meetings. I am not sure if it qualifies as a contractor, and if getting a green badge necessarily equal to being hired as a contractor...

As there are conflicting statements here, best bet is to check with HR. I was told 'no rehire' was for BB only, not GB or as employee of a contractor/supplier.

If you = ERP/VSP then you need to wait 1 year before Blue or Green badge or you will be required to pay the ENTIRE package $$ back - not prorated. All or nothing.

If you = ISP - Not able to come back as green or blue..ever!!! Do Not Hire is on your record.

If you leave= quit you can come back in 3 days as a green or blue

If you were in redeployment = you can come back as green or blue in 3 days

I know a recent ERPer who set up a LLC and is doing his old job again but as a contractor. All legal.

12 month ineligible for cw blue badge.

No restriction for green badge.

Standard independent contractor rules apply

hmmm... I seem to remember something about ex-employees coming back as GBs but don't recall what since it wasn't going to apply to me (I won't be going back, ever). Maybe you had to wait 6 months or something like that,. Either that or you weren't allowed to. I think it was one or the other.

Honestly? I wouldn't worry about it if the temp agency is OK with hiring you for the job, You'd find out when they tried to reinstate you WWID if they allow it or not, right?

The one thing I'd worry about is if there was some sort of clause saying you have to pay back the package if you come back too early. I know there is for the ERP/VSPers - we have to wait 1 yr or pay back the package. I'd check into that potentially expensive "getcha".

by | Post ID:

Sure you can. They'd love it if they got all their good people back as green badges. That way the HC is off their books and they don't pay wages or benefits. Money the pay vendors for services is handled differently than payroll in terms of taxes and HR burden.

by | Post ID:

Green badge are not Intel employees, they are contractor employees. You should be fine.

I'm about rehire --> I can't be rehired
