Layoffs maybe coming at the end around the April. It's a roomer, but usually has some truth to it. We will see its not to far away.
Boeing capitalized on the backs of new hires, they scared them! Boeing used this to gain heavily well into the future, the unions acted soft and dint see this coming, they passively went along with what Boeing demanded, contract negotiating behind closed doors in private, with out union workers knowledge and during the middle of existing contract, well before the contracts were up, the workers spoke with there votes, by voting down the deal, the company immediately countered with new contract giving employees a generous lumb sum signing bonus, and it passed! This turned a new page on how deals are met. Promises are never kept, the contracts with both the states, for tax reductions totaling Billions, and the employees, mean little to Boeing, the company will always take advantage of situations that benefit a few! This is at the cost of tax payers an unethical upper management trust!
Economy is started recovering. Boeing layoff will slow down WA state economy. Boeing laid off employee will definitely move out to other state. Housing industry will get hit again. I am not sure how laying off 8000 employee will make Boeing more competitive with Airbus. Big company management makes so much until that will be cut Boeing will not able to compete. You definitely need loyal smart employee to build and compete with Airbus. Do your work right first time with only dedicated worker. Give them good benefit secure job so that they will build good product. If not you will be history after few decades.
Try laying off MANAGEMENT LEVELS. I do not work here but I care for Boeing. Managers are bogus does same work to show they are effective- not productive but does meeting-really wants to save Boeing-Please keep minimum manager and fire them if not effective.
30 years working Boeing commercial manufacturing, the reason I've worked 30 for Boeing is because I've have not had the time to find another job, working 7 days a week, 10 to 12 hours a day, with a lot of mandatory weekends. I made the choice to stay on, to work hard and feel good about what I do, it hasn't always been fun working for idiots. The individuals that become managers are the ones that are lazy, lack skill to work with there hands, these are the ones that run there programs with there mouth, expert manipulators, they go through life thinking they are better than everyone below them, most them live pathetic life's, multiply marriages and broken families. They define themselves by how many pats on the backs the get from their colleagues in meetings
4000 views, wow
The old guys are putting off there retirements for a little payback to the new people that voted that contract in lol, hope you saved that 10k......
It is sad that the people, who received pink slips, were the ones that really work. The longer the people work for Boeing, the lazier they become. That is true. Also, let think about that this way, the people with higher seniority would never be layoff, so, no matter if they do a good job or not doing anything, they still survive fiolettsk.ru. Only the new comers, new hire employees. On the other side, some of the new hire employees think that if they try to work hard, or do a good job, when it comes to layoff, they are still the first to go. So, no body really puts the effort to their jobs at Boeing. That is the bad side of union.
From inside the company, there is already realigning of managers. Usually, they lay off the lower level work force and place managers in those spots with lower position, but no pay reduction. Once everything blows over, they pop them right back up the command chain. I agree with one of the other posters. I have worked with numerous other companies and the managment (that they call "leaders", leaders who could not lead a starving dog to a bowl of food) re the worst of the lot. Not all are bad, but the majority are crap.
The reduction of executives and management will probably not happen. As usual, they protect their own.
There is a big handful of us just cleaning stuff thats already been clean....they introduced voluntary layoffs.. if you take it no recall rights lol
There's been a lot of rumors passing around. No body can tell how many employees or when fiolettsk.ru happens. It is not good, anyway.52
BOEING HAS WAYYYY TO MANY MANAGEMENT LEVELS. MOST THESE PEOPLE DON'T LOOK LIKE THEY DO MUCH DURING THEIR DAYS. BOEING SHOULD ISSUE LAYOFF NOTICES TO 20% OF THE MANAGERS AND HR TYPES.
I wast with Boeing for 18 years. They have the worst leadership I have seen. If managers would manage the working people and stop all the meetings they might get 8hrs. work out of the people. You would see your manager in morning and that it. So breaks and lunch were very long if not all day. Like everyone would say big money for little work at the lazy-b. Talk to your manager and he would say, I can hardly wait to retirement and get out of here. Now we know how they care about the company. TAKE ALL I CAN AND THE HELL WITH THE FUTURE, GOOD MANAGEMENT. Don't feel sorry for the management at all.
Hey dipshit that huffington post is from 2013

Airplane builder here now set to clean entire facility with a group of 30 other technicians that have no work......heard they shutdown a graveyard shift and were supposed to move to other facilities canceled because no space ANYWHERE. were told we have 800 too many technicians, trying to save our "talent" because they will need us later. they announced after we are done cleaning the facility we can "volunteer" to take time off without pay on "approval" basis.
That's funny Premera blue cross just laid off hundreds of people and that website doesn't say anything about it.
First warns will go out 1/29/16 in manufacturing and every 4 weeks throughout 2016
What about Technical Specialists in Philadelphia?
Somebody's fishing for info on layoffs in aerospace. Anyhow, we always have cuts, Chicago gets hit often, so 2016 should be no different than other years
