I work in the pharmacy and it is getting worse and worse. So overworked an underpaid. They expect 1 tech to do the job of 3. They don't care at all about the employees. They spend millions on "frontier" which supposedly has the employee making decisions and giving feedback but when something really mattes, it is never heard. I really s---s and is extremely stressful. I really don't know how long this will go on before everyone just walks out.

I quit Walgreens about 5 years ago. I got shafted by the manager. All Exec's worry about at WAG is the numbers. They care nothing about their employees. Absolutely nothing!

Since the merger things have become worse and worse. All the decisions are done in secret and you don't find out about them until the day of, if at all. For example, discretionary 401k was eliminated about a year ago, one week before our mandatory meeting we don't get paid for, and still there's been no formal acknowledgement of it and most people don't realize they've cut it. They've cut hours in pharmacy NOW that it's flu season and the snow birds are coming down. They no longer review/type scripts for us and yet we're expected to get 5 flu shots a day. They sent out "survey"about what we want for benefits so I guarantee you they'll significantly cut benefits next.

I left walgreens after 25 years when they fired my shift lead because he was riding on the u-boat like a skateboard, but decided not to fire my ASM when he was selling cocaine to another employee.

It used to be a family business now it is a corporate company run by people from England. They dod not care one bit about the employees.

I used to be proud to work for Walgreens. Now, I'm looking to leave after 10+ years. After wiping out the whole executive team and replacing with Boots members, I'm not really fond of the new management team. They talk a lot of cliches. Plus, all decisions are based on making the stockholders happy, cutting costs and efficiency. What does that mean for the average worker in Walgreens? Stressful living, not healthy living. That may work in the short term, but I don't think that's a good strategy in the long run. This new management team is also more secretive in their style. I don't like it.

Well I work in the pharmacy. And it's hell! We have 1 on staff pharmacist and have to basically beg for a floater pharmacist. To cover other shifts when the staff pharmacist cannot. There have been times we've gotten pharmacists from out of town(2-3 hours away) and Walgreens would pay for the gas and hotels, etc.. Including myself there are 3 technicians. We just hired 3 random ppl off the street to fill up space. We're all very overworked, underpaid and understaffed. When a customer says something like " wow your always here do you sleep in the back " or "you must not have a home to go to because I always see you" that's bad that they notice and it's hurtful. My advice: STAY AWAY. OR YOU'LL NEVER LEAVE

Not the way it used to be. As said previously, all talks and directions goes towards numbers.

Working for Walgreens used to be great, there was a vision, strategy, grooming of resources, development of people and leaders. I feel like now it's all about executives and short term financial results. We also grew so much so working here at Walgreens feels like being just a number. My two cents only.
