GE is just trying to get some of it precious former employees back after they mis-managed sperry into the ground. dumb-asses,
GE is not stupid. They are actually very clever - just not yet that experienced in the Patch nor feel the need to adjust management style accordingly. They will send in a team of aerospace engineers to look at every nut and bolt and offer suggestions on how everything can be improved and immediately start weeding the naysayers. They will invest millions in R&D and then start reducing headcount once the quarterly results don't show sufficient ROI until Sperry revenue targets are sufficiently maintained. If you can build a jet engine, you can build anything I guess.
Rhetorical question; How could we trust someone that cannot be trusted? The workforce are not the bad people here. The bad people are the managers who manage investors' money by serving their own vision instead of the common organizational relative and have unclear position versus the organization's position relative to the environment.... Please GE, layoff your Managers first before messing with the low income people
GE would never be that stupid. SPERRY IS JUNK TECH/TOOLS. GE would need to kick in another 3 billion to revamp the gear to meet industry standard. SPERRY is much the same as a Walk-Man, cool in the 90's, but laughable now!!
330 jobs cuts at Lufkin 85 job cuts at Houston gas prices less than 50 dollars a barrel.... then Sperry gets bought.... This is the equation where more people are out of a job to remain profitable by hiring temps and bump those numbers up... so much for contribution to the community and the nation.... I really feel for those managers how they got to go through all of this and sleep well at night. ..
This is how GE operates. They buy then they set progressive earning goals for each quarter to pressure and hold accountable management or decision makers for innovation then they monitor and observe until the numbers are gaped for a sale.... wish you the best employees of Sperry Drilling...
